The Sum of Us


Learned expert
in denominations of one
and inexperienced in pluralities,
.
it is necessary to question
the probability
by which a new figure
.
can be factored
into the limitations
of singular time and space.
.
Hard to relinquish
predictable trajectories
in favour of shaky spheres.
.
Love’s unquantifiable
theories of chaos
do not add up,
.
as long as mind is greater
than or equal to body,
and intercourse less
.
than intimacy.
Equations of the heart
are exponentially steep.
.
So, no velocities too fast,
no vectors too close,
no emotions without square roots.
.
Lest blind reckoning
lead to days divisible
by pained miscalculation,
.
where your skin is an algebra
too soft to compute,
and your eyes, infinity.
